"Of course." Edmure's smile did not waver, although he felt a pang of disappointment that this stunning golden beauty was married. As Myrcella continued to stroke his hand, he looked around the feasting area.
"Who is your husband and why is he not with you taking care of his fair bride? I know if I were your husband, I would not be able to leave your side."

"Mors Hill." Edmure repeated, half to himself, thinking he should try to find out whether he needed to tread carefully or not. "A son of the old king, my lady? Fathered on some Westerlands noblewoman or one of the lowborn peasant girls in your fair region?"

"A scullery maid in Lannisport. Not exactly Daemon Blackfyre... Why? Are you ;intimidated?" The heiress grinned at him and squeezed his hand.

Edmure grinned back at Myrcella. "Intimidated? Not by your husband. Your brother though is a member of the Kingsguard I believe. My uncle has joined him. They are now brothers. Does that make us kin?"
He gave a short bark of laughter at the thought.

Does that make us kin?" He gave a short bark of laughter at the thought. She stopped to think seriously about this scandalous riddle. "That would make me... Your aunt, I think. Or siblings, as your brother is wed to my husband's sister..." She looked at him with a mischievous grin. "Is that too close for comfort... Brother?"

"Definitely not too close if I was Targaryen" replied Edmure. "But I am not and nor do I aspire to be." He paused for effect and then grinned. "But the wife of my brother's wife's brother should be distant enough. Who knows. Maybe one day we might be closer than that."

A few days, I hope..."

"I think so." replied Edmure. "But I shall need to leave soon to take up my position at Harrenhal." He smiled at her again. "But in the meantime I would like to get to know you better Myrcella Reyne of Castamere."

She sipped a glass of water as she watched him think.

"A knight fighting in a war comes from many places, my lady. Riverrun. Redgrass, Lord Harroway's Town amongst others." he replied. "And now Harrenhal." He filled his own cup, glad to see she was sobering up. "I'd like to know how a fair Westerlands maiden, came to be married to Mors Hill. Is he intended to inherit Castamere?"

However, without the bedding, we can argue the marriage was never consummated if he turns out to be such a dunce. If any children come out of this, Seven save me, Papa will formally adopt them to keep them as Reynes and not... Whatever Morse is supposed to be. Besides, I have uncles and cousins who would inherit long before him anyone gave anything to him without having impressed him."

"Sound like you were married very recently to your husband" he replied, amused at her assessment of her marital situation. "Not even a bedding yet!"

"I'm sure you would not allow your new husband or indeed anyone else to take inappropriate.........how shall I say this for those with certain sensibilities......'liberties' with you until the proper formalities had been observed." said Edmure enjoying the repartee. "I've heard noble maidens from the West guard their virtue strongly. I believe their fathers and brothers insist."
