"Good," he said. "You probably know the man's a tanner. You offer him," he looked her over a brief second, "you know what to offer him tomorrow in exchange for some nice leathers. I'll be here an hour past sundown tomorrow and we'll go to pick them up at his house. You start distracting him, and I'll take care of the rest. If you let him in on it, it won't end well for you," he promised, "but I assure you, nothing will happen to you, and once this is done you can have a bit of an...upgrade to your lifestyle. What's your name?" he asked. "And get me an ale so no one thinks we're being all sneaky." She handed him a wooden mug. "Visenya... Ah bettuh not get in trouble for this... The gold cloaks knocked all me mum's teeth out the other day for wearin' her red scarf..."

"A good name," he said, "and I promise that no one will care about any of this. In fact, do this to perfection and I think a dragon of a rather more desirable color could be yours." He whispered into her ear. "Also, you will speak the queen's name only with reverence," he added.

"A-aye, milord..." She seemed unsure of what she had just volunteered for. "Ah'll return..."
Visenya returned to her duties. When she next interacted with the latest line of fat men to waste the royal squire's time, the conversation lasted longer than the one Nyles had spied before. The girl served more customers, then spoke to Hearty Herb again. Then another tour of the establishment before returning to her new employer.
'E'll give me a fine new 'at in exchange for some quality time before my shift tomorrow. Is that what you wanted me to say?"

"That's fine," Nyles affirmed, "but don't go over there without me meeting me here, wouldn't want anything bad to happen because I got delayed. If something weird happens just tell him you got called in early and I will be here," he promised. "I assume you can keep quiet like a good girl?" he asked. He didn't care if she was older than him. "Coins follow silence like moths follow a flame."

"Aye... Hour past sundown, like you said." She looked at him peculiarly. "Is that it for tonight? You just wanted me to talk to him?" It had been a while since anyone with coin didn't try to buy her time for other things.

Nyles shrugged. "I'm not paying you to make him happy," he said. He looked her over. "There's a better way to make a living," he said. "Do well on this and I'll help you see one of the other options."

She seemed rather doubtful at the prospect, but a job at the castle wouldn't be difficult to procure. She left him to his drink.

The next evening, she found him in the tavern. She wore a black cloak which seemed more like a quilt converted into something to wear. Outside, it was snowing lightly. "'is place isn't far. 'Ave what you promised?"

Nyles nodded. "Of course, Visenya," he said. He hands her a few of the coins but not most of them. He has a warm brown cloak on, his knife and sword now. He looks about the tavern for signs of strange behavior, beyond normal drinking. He handed her a spare set of gloves, probably over large for her but warm.

Nyles can sense a lot of anger here. Aside from Hearty Herb the previous night, there is little merriment here, only sulking. It is not inconceivable that many lost family and friends in the Great Sept.
Visenya looks down at the gloves with a bit of awe. Not many here can afford to give away a good pair of gloves. "We should leave before my proper shift begins and Herb decides to find his way here..."

"We're going now," Nyles said. He has six silver and twelve copper on him now, a bit more coin in case he has to bribe someone. The tavern could be a place for information shortly if he got a way in. He takes her arm like they're young lovers on a date and lets her lead the way. When within sight of the house he will stop and take a moment to scan it (32 observation). His primary focus is number of entrances and presence of people sitting in the snow for no visible reason.

His primary focus is number of entrances and presence of people sitting in the snow for no visible reason. (Failure, assuming there was anything worth observing.) There are few people in the street when it's snowing, but there are still those returning home after a day's work. The only person standing in the cold of his own volition is a watchman, clutching his very stylish but not quite practical cloak. Visenya points out a building with two floors and a sign clearly marked Hearty Herb's Tannery. There is still a light shining on the first floor, and he would have to be an astonishing fool to waste oil and candles. A single trek around the block reveals two entrances, one beneath the sign and a more private one in the back.

"All right, Visenya," he said, "you go in there and make sure the door stays unlocked. Once you have him distracted take a moment to go undress and make a sound. "I'll come in and then you bar the exits. If he tries hurting you just call for help."

"I'll come in and then you bar the exits. If he tries hurting you just call for help." "Oh, believe me, Ah will." She waited a moment to muster her courage before finally approaching the building. She knocked at the door, before wrapping the cloak around herself. Eventually, the lumbering arse himself opens the door. He leans in the doorway, grinning and making smalltalk before inviting the girl out of the cold. Visenya is sure to close the door herself behind them.

Nyles scans the road one last time and then listens for the signal near the entrance.

Nearby, the watchman is haggling for dinner with a jerky and cheese vendor. Neither seem particularly interested in Nyles.
In ten minutes, the door reopens and Visenya, almost certainly nude beneath her quilt, gestures towards her benefactor to approach quickly before returning inside.
