"I'm counting on it." replied Edmure. "Belric is Lord of Harrenhal, but I am to be its Castellan. I will need good men about me to govern a place like this."

After the Council but before leaving for Riverrun, Lady Saesha returned to Alucard's Rest. She had left Ser Simon at home again. She had a couple of inconspicuous looking guards with her, not because she feared the town, but there had been bandits and other scoundrels around.
She approached the bar and looked for the old woman.

The tavern is notably more busy than the last time Saesha had seen it, packed with the men of Harrentown enjoying drinks. It could never be called lively or jovial in its current state, but it was an improvement nonetheless. Muriel was indeed behind the par, pouring drinks, most of them watered down due to low stock rather than frugality. There were a couple of serving wenches now as well, though none of them comely.

Saesha walked over to the area of the bar where Muriel was currently serving. She was happy to wait until she'd finished serving her immediate client, but she was not happy to wait. Until she made her way round.
When she was finished she ordered a watered down wine. "Things seem to be picking up here," Saesha said, nodding and looking partly impressed, "How have you been?" Saesha asked with genuine concern.

To her credit, she did not have to wait long, a hush falling over most of the establishment as she made her way to the bar. Now that food had worn away the numbing shock of starvation and time had made the discovery of their murdered children slightly less raw, most actually took the time to marvel at an actual Targaryen in their presence. Well...the closest they had seen anyways. A woman with silver hair was like a unicorn as far as they were concerned. A few actually gaped and one man dropped his beer without even a curse.
"Good times or bad, folks want a drink, milady,," the old crone replied, offering a bow of her head. "Well as can be expected, considering. Better than most, I suppose."

"That is the truth of it," Saesha didn't care for the eyes, but she was used to it, all she had to do was leave her tent in the war and it was eyes and staring without fail. A woman, a woman of Targaryen blood, a well raised woman of pure Valyrian ancestry, and the sister of both the men leading both armies.
"I wanted to thank you, for taking us in, I know we were not the best of tenants, but my husband and I appreciated it. I know he is planning on coming to thank you himself, perhaps today, he had business in the town."

"Had worse, if you don't mind be saying. You kept your end, did what you said you'd do. More than most highborns I've met can say, and no shortage has come through my doors," the woman admitted, somewhat begrudgingly. "Got that son in law of mine back, lazy layabout, but a might better than being alone in this world."

"Well, we are doing our best to try and get even more people to come through your doors, our main priority is improving commerce and making the area safer, "she assured the old woman," You did us a great service though, if there is anything you need for this place to help you until our plans come together, let me know, and I will see if I can grant it." Saesha gave the woman a dazzling smile, and sipped the fairly nasty wine. She hated watered wine, tasted weak and she hated weak.

"Alucard's has weathered three lordships of Harrenhal; Towers, Strong, and Lothston. Don't you worry yourself about it weathering a fourth, milady," the old crime replied with a hint of warm pride. "Should be more concerned with yourself and they babe of yours on the way," she added, with a knowing glance at Saesha's stomach and a small sad smile.

"Why should I be concerned?" She asked, not denying the accusation of pregnancy, even though she and Belric had not gone public, "how did you know, may I ask?"

"Because the others weren't," Muriel answered, as if it were obvious. "When you have seen as many moons as I, you learn to intuit things. Besides, you are practically glowing, and when you libe your life as we do in a shadow, the few things that do demand notice."

"I have many concerns over living here. I have heard mention of the ghosts being real. Do you think they are?" She asked the old woman, genuinely wanting the woman's opinion.

Having finished his errands in Harrentown, Belric stopped by Alucard's. He saw Saehsa's guard posted outside and told him own men to join them. After hitching his horse, Belric walked into the tavern, mutton wrapped under his arm.
Spotting Saesha and the old woman, Belric walked up and interrupted their conversation. "A small thank you," said Belric, offering the parcel of dried meat and mutton. He placed his free hand on the small of his wife's back, blissfully unaware of the serious conversation he was impeding upon.

"I cannot tell you how many ghosts and monsters haunt the halls of Harrenhal, but I do know that those who seek to master it have more often than not come to know both well, in their hearts and in their heads," the woman said sagely. "Guard your own closely."
As Belric walked in, the woman bowed her head and took the meat humbly, though had shown far more deference to Saesha.

"I always do." she nodded her thanks for the advice, "The good woman here was just telling me of how her inn has stood and served for the last four families that tried to call this place home, my love." she placed her arm on the one Belric had reached out to hand over the meat, "I was thinking, Madam, that the children of this town have suffered most of it's people, if there is anything we can do ourselves to help them. Perhaps we can aid them in getting some form of schooling. The ability to read and write is a great skill. Would making some form of... school an idea that would go down well with the families? Here in the town of course?"
