Qhorin stared back, squinted, cocked his head, then spat to the side "huh." He mumbled, then got on his Mike and followed the group again. " touched lot these ones. Really that bad out here?"

Willem glanced back at Edmure and raised an eyebrow. "Must be bad if these folk are too afraid to let us help them." He commented pointedly, loud enough for the silent smallfolk to hear.

As the group continues northwest, threading the ground between the Gods Eye and the Trident, the ground becomes firmer and more rocks as they approach the edge of their domain. Eventually they come upon a massive granite quarry complex, dug deep and wide centuries ago by Harren the Black to construct the massive keep. The buildings and cranes had, as promised, been burnt during the war. In addition, most of the quarries were half-filled with water, making them resemble lakes more than sources of construction resources. It would take gold to see the quarry returned to working order. ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e1/Stone_quarry_adelaide.JPG)

Qhorin grimaces as he looks at the place. It was a blur at this distance to him, but a dang sorry looking one. He took out his slate and began scratching down some notes. "Least we found it" he remarks.

Edmure sat atop his horse gazing down into the water-filled holes with mixed feelings. They had their stone, but he knew that it would come at a cost.
"Give me an estimate Qhorin." he finally said. "What do we need to do to get this place operating again? More importantly how much is it going to cost?"

Using his notes he was trying to figure just that out.

(Costs and Building Time Reduced by 20%)
Normally a quarry complex of this size would take roughly 2,000 gold and 2 months to complete. The mason judges that with the existing infrastructure in place, he could complete the job with 1,600 gold and a month and a half.

The mason works numbers on the slate for a bit, then drawls "gimme little over thousand and a half dragons, and I can get it working again in six weeks. Course, that's exempting bandits and shakes like."

Edmure nodded. "If it's in my power, you'll be given everything you need Qhorin to get this place working again as soon as you can. My uncle and brother should see the sense in investing men and gold in quarrying stone."

"Here to build milord. Gotta still look at harrentown, the towers, and the foundations of the castles." He said without looking up.

"Foundations and the towers will be first." said Edmure firmly. He looked up at the sky shading his eyes as we did so.
"Have you seen everything you need to, Qhorin? If so, it is time we returned to Harrenhal."
He looked across to Willem. "I'd be interested to know a little more about the whereabouts of these bandits too."

"I'm good" says the man shortly. Faster they'll get back , the better.

Edmure nodded. He signalled his men and spurred his horse into a fast trot, at a speed where Qhorin's mule could keep up. They moved south-west making for Harrenhal.

Willem asked in way of response. "I can do so should you wish it, but I'll need a man or two."
