"We have been granted Harrenhal to bring law and order to these lands and the lands of our vassals. Swear fealty to us Ser Alester and you will not regret it. I pledge to you - your House...." he looked earnestly at Lord Oswell. "..... our protection, our aid and the justice of His Grace the King. Already the lands around Harrenhal have been cleared of many of the bandit gangs that have plagued these parts and we pledge that we will aid you in doing the same. There will never be a return to the days of House Lothson."

(Success. Two points to Persuasion.)
Ser Alester was silent, allowing his father to visibly wrestle with the future of his house in his mind. His fingers curled into fists, while his face turned red beneath his beard. Finally... He laughed.
"Someone hand me a damn sword!"
A young man bearing the Shoreham features stood and unsheathed his own. "Take mine, father."
Oswell accepted it, and turned to face Edmure. His second son helped him kneel. "To House Blackfort, I offer my services as they are. I will keep your counsel, shield your back, and give my life for yours if need be. I swear it by the honor of His Grace, King Daemon, under the eyes of the old gods and the new."

Edmure responded in the appropriate way in a clear ringing voice. "To Lord Oswell of House Shoreham, we House Blackfort vow to you that you shall always have a place by our hearth and meat and mead at our table, and pledge to ask no service of you that might bring you into dishonor. I swear it by the old gods and the new. Arise my lord."
He smiled at the old man as he helped him to his feet, before declaring loudly. "Let all in this Hall bear witness to the fealty of House Shoreham to House Blackfort. They are our dear friends and allies."

Those present cheered by whacking the table with their hands. Oswell's son helped him up, and to his table.
Ser Alester approached. "As proof of our loyalty, I and some of my men would accompany your return to Atranta. By your leave, of course. We have old ties with the Vances that need be rekindled now that this foolish war is over."

"Of course, Ser Alester. We should be glad to have you along." replied Edmure, smiling broadly, trying to hide the pain from his ribs.

//////////// 18th day of the 3rd moon
Having just returned from his travels, Belric held an impromptu court session, not wanting to waist any time getting back up to speed. He had word sent to his family, and to that detestable maester, hoping they would join him for the debriefing.
He sat in his chair, fingers tapping impatiently at the wooden armrest as he waited for a servant to bring him a drink.

Percival entered wearing that bland and itchy robe he detested. He walked and frowned when he realized he was the first to arrive. He thought about turning to leave but that might be seen as an insult. He looked at Belric with a disappointed grimace and then walked to him and bowed deep enough for a King. Then the Maester siddled off to the side. Aww.... There was that rank smell. He had almost grown to miss it.

Though not in the "council", Dacey arrived anyway, seeing as it had mostly been her taking care of Harrenhal in Belric's absence, and not their actual castellan or steward. "Belric," she greeted with a nod, genuinely glad he was back to relieve Edmure of his command. She took up a spot near the maester.
"How was your journey?" she asked her brother, quite curious about the delay.

Willis entered the hall still limping a bit, smiling as he saw his friend and lord.
"Good to have you back, Bel. You missed some excitement while you were off bowing and scraping."

Violet decided to attend the court. She expected to play no part in the events that took place, but wanted to witness them at least.

Belric was surpsied to see the maester show a shred of punctuality. The man must have been bored, otherwise why else would he come willingly when called?
"Maester," said Belric in greeting, with a nod of his head to accept the man's curtious bow... Regardless of wether it was sarcastic or not. "Do you have anything to report?"
Dacey's entrance was a welcomed interuption, as it likely meant Belric and the maester didn't have to sit together alone. "Good to see you sister. And it is good to be home. Riverrun was a trial, but not unexpected. The King's peace continues, though we will find no friend in our Lord Paramount. What of home? What have I missed?"

Belric smiled back at Willis, though it quickly turned to a frown when he noticed his good friends injury. "Tell me the story of how that happened." He said, pointing to Willis's leg.

"No surprise there," said Dacey somewhat grimly, having expected no more from Tullys. "I've been taking care of the castle in your absence, so if you've any questions concerning that, I most likely have more answers than Edmure. He's been dealing with the border dispute, which I'm sure you've heard has been solved by now. Jon has been struck down by some kind of disease, but Percival has been most helpful with his counsel," she commended, not sure whether Belric cared about that or not. She studied him for a while, unsure if anyone had informed him already.
"There's bad news as well," she said. This clearly took precedence over Willis' injured knee. "Nyles... Nyles is dead."

Willis didn't bother answering Belric's question. News that the kid died likely took precedence.

Belric was glad he was sitting, otherwise the news of his brothers death would surely have taken the groud out from beneith him.
"How?" He asked, not know what else to say. "What of the King?" It sounded silly as the words came out, asking about the King after being told of his own brothers death. However, Belric struggled to understand how the King's Squire could be placed in harms way unless Daemon had also been threatened.
