Edmure was looking out the window of his solar gazing over Harrenhal when the guard announced the arrival of the mason. After he permitted entry, Edmure directed the mason to a seat. "Qhorin is it?" he said with a smile. "Welcome to Harrenhal. What can I do for you?" Qhorin will take the seat gratefully "Uh, thanks Ser. Came by t'say that the masons workshops ready to go again. We don't have access to lots of new rock, but we can use lot of the rubble in meantime. I came here t'work" he says as he pops his ring finger absentmindedly " And there's a lot of it that could be done. What dya'want from me?" Qhorin hadn't dealt with much noble folk like, but these ones didn't seem that bad.

"Very good." Edmure said, clearly pleased at the news. "We won't take long to set you to work. You must have seen the state of the fortress as you came in?"

"I have. Second longest, definitely highest fortress I've seen. But Casterly Rock cheated, it's just a massive bloody stone hill and they dug tunnels. This place, can't imagine initial construction. Wasteful as all seven hells, but got the job done all t'same. We've begun clearing out as much as we can, but most of it still uninhabitable for... proper folk like y'self." the man says after hesitating for a second "Problem right now is stone. Plenty of wood from what I see, but good stones where it is, doesn't grow anywhere."

Edmure nodded towards the man, understanding what the problem was.
"The most pressing task is the gate and gatehouse." replied Edmure. "They need to be repaired and if possible strengthened. As yet, I'm unaware of where Harrenhal's quarries might be located. However one way or the other, I intend to find out, re-open them as soon as possible and bring stone here for that purpose. I hope to have your assistance in bringing that about."

Qhorin purses his lips and pulls out a crumpled piece of paper and quill from one of his pockets. From another a ink well, and he writes down a few ideas as the men talk
"Gatehouses, yeah. Y'want em both open, east and main, or use only one for now? Easts undamaged, but main gate needs to be replaced. If we block em off, its harder to block mains though. Big nough for giants that thing is. I can start round for those things, but I'm no scout. Just followed the roads here."

"I understand." replied Edmure. "The main gate needs to remain open. I give you the authority to make what repairs and improvements you can with the stone materials you have. Go over the gate and gatehouse with your expert eye and give me some recommendations. I'll do all I can to find a source of stone, preferably from our own lands rather than having to trade for it. The gates are of re-inforced wood - oak maybe? See that they are repaired and strengthened."
He stood and walked to the window. "Then we shall look at Kingspyre Tower."

Qhorin stands when Edmure does, looking out the window behind the man "I'll get to it then. The estimate for how long the gate will take will be to you as soon as I can properly assess it. I'll also start looking at Kingspyre. Should... I go to the Lord for anything? Or should I limit myself to you? I don't want to be forward, Ser."

Edmure thought of his brother's words in his solar as he continued to gaze out the window.
"Lord Belric has entrusted me with the duty of looking after this castle. I'm to staff it, fortify it and protect his subjects. His very words Qhorin."
He turned to the mason. "Limit yourself to me. Lord Belric has other concerns."
"In any case, I will shortly be leading a party to explore our surrounding lands. Finding a workable quarry will be one of our goals. It seems to me that you would be the best placed to recognise suitable stone for our purposes. I leave it up to you whether you wish to accompany us or not. If not, begin the repairs with what you have and await our return."

"Very well. I'll see his work done." The man probably felt he wasn't to see the common born anymore. Made sense enough, Lannister arrogance could be felt in Lannisport emanating from Casterly Rock.
"I'll accompany you. I'm... unused to horses, but I can start the men working on the initial cutting and preparing of timber for the gate while we survey the land. I would see this ground, get its feel if I'm allowed. We'll also have to start cutting back the wood near the walls."

"Very well. Then it's settled." said Edmure. "Meet me and my men at the gate on the morrow. We'll be glad to have you along."

After going to her rooms to take in a drink. Lady Saesha visits Edmure on the request of her husband. Unlike with Belric's Solar, she gave him the courtesy of waiting to be invited in.
She brought two bottles of wine with her.

Having been informed by one of the guards at his door of the Lady Saesha's presence, Edmure, fresh from his meeting with Belric, invited her in.
His chambers had improved in creature comforts since their arrival at Harrenhal. A log fire was burning, the floor had been swept clean and a writing desk with a chair was in one of the corners. Two or three large chairs mainly for comfort were located just close enough to the fire to make the persons sitting in them pleasantly warm. Edmure's cyvasse table, strewn with carved wooden pieces was beside one of the larger chairs, while what looked like a cabinet of wine bottles and Edmure's preferred ale, was located near to the writing desk.
Edmure's features were impassive as he politely greeted Saesha. He waved her to one of the more comfortable chairs.
"My lady. Your visit is somewhat...unexpected. What may I do for you?"

"My husband has expressed a wish for you and I to get closer, given when happened at the gate I suppose that it is the best idea."
She lifted the bottle, "I tend to find this is the best way," she passed it to him and got two glasses, then sat.

Edmure's expression didn't change as he opened the bottle and poured the contents into the glasses. He placed his glass on the flat arm of his chair and handed one to her.
"My brother has expressed the wish that we be able to work together to support him as Lord."
