Having sweat off his three cups of drink by dancing, Boros' decided to sit down by his new boss and see what was being planned for the job.
"Sorry, it's been a while since I've last had an opportunity to sing that song." He smiled, waving for a serving when he to bring him some milk. "Do you think we can spare the time? Of having someone go there first to scout?"

“You will have to ask my cousin about that,” Simon replied easily. “Your predecessor paid his dues to the Ferrymen and in exchange was provided intelligence for three jobs of potential profit. I collected the intelligence for this job, while Augie is responsible for the intelligence related to the farm job and the Pinkmaiden prospect.” He motioned to the relatively heavy sack of silver Vex was carrying. “Though, whatever the variables at the farmhouse, it seems to have been profitable, which is all you can really ask for in this line of work and the only assurance the Ferrymen provide.” It did not seem the man was lying. In fact, he seemed to be laboring under the assumption everyone was privy to the information in Longinch’s job tips. "Well, it turned out to be about four shares more profitable than originally intended," Vex joked with half a smirk, clearly not minding some gallows humour. "The Pinkmaiden prospect...?" she prompted, having not heard of such.

After talking to Simon and leaving his office with her hood pulled up again and a heavy purse in her hand, Vex heard Boros' horrible singing and gave the main hall of the tavern a once-over, silently thanking the non-existant gods the cloth and the hood muffled the "tune" at least to some rate. She quickly noticed and made a beeline for Tim. "Guarding our shit not important enough for you?" she asked, standing menacingly behind him as he enjoyed his ale at one of the tables.

Tim jumped when Vex spoke to him. He spun to face her. The dregs of ale sloshed in the tankard.
"Daven's out there," he said. "I was gonna go back and ask if 'e wanted to get a drink. I 'ad a thirst, lass, is all. 'Sides, I thought mayhaps I could learn somethin' o' use to us. There's always talk in taverns."

Vex blinked, looking at him in silence. Or glaring, it was hard to tell with the hood.

Vex studied Tim for a while. "We're leaving," she said. "Won't discuss the job here. Everything had better be where I left it."
She turned to leave, stopped, and looked over her shoulder. "And don't call me lass."

Nay, thought Tim, you're a lass and so you'll remain, leader or not. But he knew better than to say so. He downed the last mouthful of ale and headed out into the yard to find Daven.
"We're leavin' soon," he announced. "Pity. I could 'ave used a few more drinks. If you want one, you best 'urry."

Barley sat at a table nursing a drink of watered down wine. She wanted to get planning, and needed a clear head for it. She approached Vex. "Do you want me to go on ahead and scout out the area?" She asked, "I think I am one of the least recognisable in the bunch" Richard, who had no interest in alcohol, free or not, had been skulking around the tavern after exiting the office and overheard Barley's words. "And just what do you know about scouting?" he asked Barley as he helped himself to a seat at the table uninvited. His tone suggested he clearly doubted her capacity to properly scout for an ambush of this magnitude. After giving Tim the hint, as subtle as a sledgehammer, Vex turned to Barley as she approached him, only to be cut off by the disagreeable recruit from before. "And just what would you know about any of us?" she asked him in return, looking him up and down, much like earlier at the office. "You're still here so I guess that counts for something." She seemed to consider something for a time. "Perhaps you and I got off on the wrong foot. Tell you what, you leave your assumptions and prejudice in this tavern and I'll do the same. How's that sound?"

"Prejudice?" Ser Richard showed the hint of a grin for the first time since he had been in the tavern. "You think I don't like you because you're a woman? I don't have a problem following a lady. Just needs to be the right lady."
He looked Vex up and down. "Might be you're competent. Chances are you're not. Haven't survived assuming the best of people. So, I'll ask again, what does your friend know about scouting if she's to be the one who is going to do it? Cause she doesn't look like a soldier to me."

"Thankfully I keep exacting records for the Ferrymen," Simon said with a sigh, opening his desk drawer, rummaging through a few papers, and pulling out copies of three letters detailing the job tips, which he handed to Vex under the assumption she could read them. "Considering you knew to go to the farm and then meet me here, I assumed you had access to our correspondence with Ser Lucas."

Running on a tight schedule here."

"Simon fancies himself the Grand Maester and Master of Coin of our small council..." Augie had never left the office and was reading a letter to himself rather slowly with the occasional moving of the lips typical of a man who learned his letters late in life. Considering his perfectly legitimate shipping company stretched across the Riverlands, it was hardly an impediment.

Vex accepted the correspondence with the feigned confidence of someone that could totally read those papers and promptly stuffed them inside her leather armor. "That one was missing," she said, and nodded once more. "Thank you. One of us will be here within a week with the cut." She turned to leave, looking to Augie with mild interest as she passed him on her way to the office door.

As Vex passed by him, Augie declared in his gravelly voice, "The newcomers all know their letters." As if demonstrating his knowledge of her illiteracy, his letter lay on his lap before her, its no doubt lucrative contents only shrouded by her ignorance. "Unless you trust the bedroom boy of course."
