Nay, thought Tim, you're a lass and so you'll remain, leader or not. But he knew better than to say so. He downed the last mouthful of ale and headed out into the yard to find Daven. "We're leavin' soon," he announced. "Pity. I could 'ave used a few more drinks. If you want one, you best 'urry." "I'm good, truth is large crows of people make me nervous these days." He says leaning against the wall of the tavern face half hidden by the hood of his cloak. "Much better to be out in the forest away from others."

As Vex passed by him, Augie declared in his gravelly voice, "The newcomers all know their letters." As if demonstrating his knowledge of her illiteracy, his letter lay on his lap before her, its no doubt lucrative contents only shrouded by her ignorance. "Unless you trust the bedroom boy of course." Vex slowly came to a halt, looking at the man as a smirk formed on her lips. She paid no mind whatsoever to the letter. "You going to teach me, Augie?" she inquired. She'd never met the man of course, but had heard and seen enough by that point to have formed an opinion.

"Much better to be out in the forest away from others." Tim frowned. "Now there's a pity. I like taverns more than anythin'. Good ale, good takes, a woman or two. Nothin' like it. But each to 'is own. Forests are good too."

Barley sat at a table nursing a drink of watered down wine. She wanted to get planning, and needed a clear head for it. She approached Vex. "Do you want me to go on ahead and scout out the area?" She asked, "I think I am one of the least recognisable in the bunch" Richard, who had no interest in alcohol, free or not, had been skulking around the tavern after exiting the office and overheard Barley's words. "And just what do you know about scouting?" he asked Barley as he slid up behind her. His tone suggested he clearly doubted her capacity to properly scout for an ambush of this magnitude. “Well I have already detected you’re a rude ingrate... but then I suppose that’s so obvious it does not really say much to my skill.”she replied, not even bothering to look back at Richard, “Vex knows all she needs to about my skills, so I don’t have to justify anything to you”

"Convenient." Richard comnented drily. "I do not know what you could possibly think me ingrateful for, seeing as we have just met. Your desire to paint me a villain is fascinating." Richard sounded all but fascinated.
He looked back to Vex. "So, it falls to you to vouch for her."

“You just walk up behind a person making demands, it tells me all I need to know about what you think of me, and what you think of yourself, Vex doesn’t owe you an explanation either, she’s leading this, so we’re doing what she says and agrees to. If you have any other ideas other than questioning people who are trying to get things done, be my guest, until that time, sit down.” Barley said, sounding annoyed. It was perhaps the most she has said in one go in many moons.

"I have yet to make a demand." Richard said, clearly growing annoyed. "When I do you shall be the first to hear it. I have asked a question of your competence and you have deflected rather than answered. Unless your friend here cares to add something, I think I have the answer to my initial question."

"She's the most capable person in this room," said Vex matter-o-factly in response to Richard so as not to sound like a proud mom, though her patience was starting to run thin as well. "We'll plan once we've put enough distance between ourselves and this place. You're either in or you're out. We're leaving in five minutes, so you'd best pack your things and meet us out front if you're in." She looked to Boros and clapped his arm, pretty sure he at least was coming along. "You too, Boros."
Then, she wheeled Barley away from them. "We could use some salt," she said, and lowered her voice to pass on some other things as well.

Augie snorted in amusement and returned to his letter. "You'll be able to afford a hell of a tutor after this job."

"Guess I'll just have to trust the bedroom boy until then," Vex quipped with that same smirk, and left the room to join the continuity.

Boros' saluted, finishing a cup of wine. He gathered his few possessions, whistled for Bart and Pris and followed after Vex.

While Boros was gathering his few possessions, Vex located the only recruit she'd not spoken to yet, and measuring him up from afar, had half a smile for him as she walked over. "Hello, handsome," she said. "Coming with us? We're leaving now to plan for a brighter future."

Sigfry looked to the woman bandit who had been present among his new traveling partners in crime. He had kept quiet, wanting to focus on the job at hand and merely get this done to survive. The wolfs head noble turned and rolled his right shoulder slightly, the weight of his hooked hand an ever present feature in his mind as he spoke.
"Handsome? Well that's certainly a new one..." He said, not used to compliments in general as he tried to figure out what this bandit wanted from him, he waited a moment, weighing his words before continuing, "I suppose I should, considering we're all part of this job. Augie as he's known certainly knows how to assemble an...interesting band." He said, referring both to himself as the others he'd seen. Their motley crew would hopefully be enough, he didn't fancy dying to a ponce of a knight for just a few dragon.

Richard responded with a frown, having repeatedly asked about Barley's competence and having repeatedly received vague assurances rather than actual evidence about her merits. He didn't even bother to respond to the comment about her being the most competent person in the room. That was clearly him, based on everything he had seen thus far.
Richard carried his few possessions on his person, so when he turned and walked from the room to stand outside he did so with his things.

After speaking to Vex, Barley nodded left the tavern and returned with a bag. Then she headed down into the cellar.
A few minutes later she returned up with the same bag that looked slightly more full and left to attach it to her horse.
