"Aye," Tim said. "'Tis a pity but 'e were a fool t'join a fellow we'd only just met. At least we can claim 'is bounty. Don't s'pose yer know what bounty 'es got? Seein' as yer knew Alyn's."
Eyeing Vex, he decided that she was likely worthy of following for now. After all, she'd slain one would-be leader and killed a man who rejected her authority. She had guts, at least, and the skill to back it.

"Daven's?" asked Vex. "A hundred gold."
She studied out of the corner of her eye for a while as they walked in silence. "It's yours," she then said with half a smile. "You've earned it."

"Aye," he agreed, remembering how he had woken to find Vex standing over Alyn and said nothing to warn Alyn of her presence. "A hundred gold, bloody 'ell! I ain't even seen 'alf that all t'gether."
He grinned, as a fuzzy feeling spread through him. It felt almost like happiness - he was going to be a rich man.
"Should probably get movin', lass - Vex."

Harlan cleaned his knife off on Richards cloths before returning it to its sheath.
“It would appear that like it or not, the option of ambushing Roote’s men on the open road is no longer possible.” Harlan said, walking up to Vex and Tim. “I’m ready to hear the details of your plan now. I’ve no complaints about playing the tavern owner, it will be a performance to remember. However, there are still quite a few unknowns.”

"Nor have I," Vex admitted. "I'll see if I can spare you some salt later."
She untied Daven's corpse from the palfrey once they reached the campsite again and looked to Harlan as he approached. "We need to procure the tavern first. It'll be Warren's Respite. We do some light scouting first, see how many horses are outside, if anyone's in the near vicinity, the works. Then, we go in, round everyone up and stuff them in the basement. Easier to do at night when they're already in their cups or asleep."
She placed her hand on her shoulder to alleviate some of the tension there, feeling the pain radiate from the wound now that the rush of combat had faded. "This was always going to be the approach for us," she said, looking at Harlan, Tim and Barley. "We have very specific skillsets and you all know as well as I that we're far better off doing what we're good at, not felling trees and lunging ourselves towards enemies."

"I'm done arguin' about th' plan," Tim said. "I just wanna get it done, then get the 'ell outta there and sleep in a soft bed for once. 'Ow about 'Arlan an' I go in as if we're just two fellows out for a drink an' a wench. One o' us could sneak out for a piss and let th' rest in the back door, if there's one. And then we take the people in the tavern by surprise."

Boros Approaches the two bodies, kneeling between them and offering their spirits a small prayer. He had no idea where the souls of these two men had gone, but whoever they were, as a Good worshipper of the seven, it was Boros duty to at least give them a few words of farewell, as he had done with several companions across the years.
"A shame, two young lads like these, had their whole lives before them still." He said to his dogs, but loudly enough for everyone to hear. "May their souls rests, no matter how wicked they were in life."
As soon as he was done dealing with their eternal departure, the old man reached for Richard's Warhammer. Had the man been a friend or at least a close companion he would have felt the need to bury both the body and the weapon, but Richard was no more than a stranger to him, who wasn't going to be buried anywa, to leave the hammer here would be waste of a good weapon.
"Captain..." Boros' rose to his feet, regarding Vex with a bland stare. "I don't agree with your decision to kill the two of them. But I understand it, and you're the boss, so I'm in no place to dispute your decisions." He bowed his head solemnly at her.

Sigfry Rose up to his feet as he looked over to vex with a raised brow. "You know his bounty? Safe to guess you know mine as well?" Sigfry asked, now a bit on edge that he might be known.
"I'm for the plan, by the way. You point me in the direction you want, I'll kill anyone that way." He said, making his stance clear for the others to understand as he sheathed his weapon and rejoined the group.

(OOC: Vex technically said that to Tim still away from the group, but I'll just go with it,)
At Sigfry's words, Vex took another good look at him, her glance lingering on his hook. "I might have an idea who you are," she said. "You could have thousands on your head for all I care. It doesn't matter. We don't go around collecting heads." She nodded at Daven's corpse. "'Less someone pulls shit like that. Then, it's just gold lying on the ground and a smart man picks it up."
She looked to Boros. "Men like Richard are the reason our last job got completely botched. If you're not with us, you're against us and that's that."
Finally, she turned to Tim and nodded, clearly happy people were thinking along now. "Good call," she said. "Now we're getting somewhere. What we do in the tavern should be fairly straight forwards. Treat them to poisoned food and drink and make easy work of them once it starts to show."
"The most important part is making sure they stop at the tavern. Spoiling their provisions or maiming one of their horses as they camp at night should do the trick. This is a one man job, however. Barley," she said, looking to the woman in question. "Are you up for it?"

Barley watched the scene unfold with ambivalence, with perhaps and edge of weariness. Not for the first time she was questioning her inclusion in this group. “Sure, I’ll leave the chain, if they catch me alone, at least I can play innocent.” She said, with a shrug, alone there was nothing she could do against eight knights anyway. “I’ll follow them when they leave, and when they get closer to this tavern than anything else I’ll see what I can do.” She nodded.
With that she started looking for any extra ingredients she might use to induce sickness leading to death for her poison, that way if this tavern plan did not work, she could keep low and follow them until they all dropped dead, or were weak enough she could pick them off. Then make off with the gold and live a life of ease. Maybe go back and take up trade with her mother. Launch her own run down shack to sell potions from... maybe take on some apprentices, spread them out until “Barley’s Brews” became the go to in herbal remedial care kingdom wide. She smiled slightly to herself at the idea.

Boros nodded at Vex then took a deep breath. To be fair, she was better than many captains he had had in his youth. So there's that, at least her orders made sense.
"In the meanwhile the rest of us will go to the tavern, right?" He asked, sitting back down in his spot and resuming his cooking. He was a big man, he needed sustenance. "Round up the patrons, tie them in the cellar. Then we do the same to the ones who pop in after we have taken control of the place. What if someone finds it strange that a bunch of his neighbors have been missing and convinces their liege to pay the Tavern a visit?"

Barley finds a patch of wolfsbane growing nearby and harvests it carefully with gloved hands, as mere contact with the skin has been known to cause illness. Ingested, it was deadly.
Her keen medical eye also notices the arrow sticking out of Vex’s shoulder, which for the sake of time this generous narrator will assume she elects to treat.

The convoy departs in 2 days, and if they elect to stay at the tavern, will arrive the evening of the first day of their journey.

"The convoy departs in two days," said Vex, not bothering to get the map again. "Which means they will be in the vicinity of Warren's respite in three days."
She looked to Boros in response to his question. "To time this well, we should take hold of the tavern a day before their expected arrival, not earlier."
She looked at the sun to determine its position. "It will take us half a day to get there so what we should do now is finish up here," she looked to Tim and nodded at Daven's corpse before turning back to the rest, "and get moving. Once we reach the tavern, we'll send Barley on her way and observe the tavern and the road from afar for a while. Then, Tim and Harlan go in to get a lay of the land. They get back, we all go in and take the place, leaving us a day to get the place ready for our guests."
