MY FUCKING GOD! Uncle Benjen = Coldhands confirmed. I'm dying here. GRRM has confirmed that Benjen is not Coldhands in the books. Coldhands is MUCH older. But at least Benjen is back. Also, the KL scenes were just idiotic. If the High Sparrow already knew that the king and queen were on his side, why would he bother with the walk of shame? Why would Tommen let his new ally parade his queen like that? Why would Tommen punish Jaime for doing something that wasn't a crime until after he did it? Why did Tommen take the time to get new armor for his KG but not fucking tell anyone about the alliance? Yeah, that scene bothered me too. I also felt the conclusion of the scene was a massive let down. I'm glad Jaime is finally going to the Riverlands but I don't like how they handled it, especially since he and Cersei are still close. Btw... What does Sam expect to do with Heartsbane? I can see many scenarios and in none of those he get to keep it for long, most involve him dead face first in the gutter. I think he's hoping it will be able to kill the Others. There's no other possible reason for him to steal it. I did quite like the Horn Hill scene even though it, as so often in the show, felt like an unnecessary diversion in the end. I liked the writing for Randyll though. They got the character down well. I keep wondering who the Seven's champion would be. I always suspected it might be the Hound in the books, but I think the show might use Loras. I think it will be Lancel, especially in the show. It seems a bit odd to have a man accused of certain "crimes"under the Faith be its champion Then again, the show does take some odd leaps of logic so I might be wrong! I'm happy Drogon showed up again (finally!) but wondering how Dany knew to find him there. The Mad King flashback was cool, albeit too short.

Still, it was great to see him. And about Sam, I imagined that. But if he thinks Randyll won't move mountains to get it back or if he'll be able to keep it for long, then I believe he went nuts. I agree with you, I quite enjoyed the scene, Talla and the wife were cute and Randyll was on point.

I read the KL thing as Margaery not knowing the Tyrells and all had a plan to rescue her, so she made her own plan. The High Sparrow probably noticed all the soldiers approaching the city and decided to troll everyone and make the great houses look even weaker. Margaery also comes out a bit ahead by being publicly atoned AND getting her weak husband to lose another of his primary advisors. The more legit issue I'd have is the Lord Commander apparently not knowing all his white cloaks were at the Great Sept with his son but if he's been planning an ambush with Mace Tyrell and his Madness Cracker(TM) brigade then it could be mitigated a bit.
It would be sort of funny for Sam to lead his brother on a merry chase through the kingdom for the sword and finally have his family all discover the threat of the Walkers that way.

Having just watched it, was anyone else annoyed by Dany's sudden omnipotence? (cough cough laziest writing ever cough cough)
How many ships do we need? Oh, I don't know, I'd say around a thousand durrrr Who has that many? No one Not yet!
Yes Dany, lets base all out plans for world conquest around the certainty that someone somewhere is currently building a thousand ships just for you. Then again, seeing as everything seems to constantly fall into her lap with zero effort, I guess she has no reason to believe the world does not bend to her needs.

She hasn't seen him in forever! I would have preferred a dragon taming scene to yet another grandiose speech in Dothraki. I was cool with her borrowing the terms of Drogo's series 1 speech about killing the men in iron suits but did she really have to say much the same thing again? Also "I take what is mine." It was never hers to begin with. I thought she was bugging me less this year but perhaps I'm bothered by her after all.

Not seen the new episode yet but yeah, never been a fan of Dany. The acting is shoddy and the writing is uninspired (mainly cause there's not much you can fucking do hanging out in "the east" for about 6 seasons).

What bothers me is the idea that she's essentially a villain. No one actually wants her there, and she knows it. She has no memories of it, her one advisor is the most hated man in the Seven Kingdoms, and Godzilla does not make anything better. She is willfully plotting the suffering of innocents she can't relate to or even imagine. At least Cersei has her children as an excuse.

I've seen people theorising that Dany will end up as a villain in the books and I can definitely see it as a possibility. She's definitely not the saviour some people think she is. And the show only highlights the idea of Dany as the saviour. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

To be honest, a lot of heroes in fantasy are quite villainous when viewed outside their medium and a lot of shit that "the good guys" do is quite bad.
I don't think Dany is so much as a villain as she is boring and predictable, as well as not very self aware. She did end slavery after all so a lot of the populace like her. The only people who don't are the traditionalists who love having slaves. So go figure.
As for her reclaiming her "rightful" throne? Well that's just that - taking something that isn't yours. Cersei did it on behalf of Joffrey, Robert did it as did Aegon I.

It seems a bit odd to have a man accused of certain "crimes"under the Faith be its champion Then again, the show does take some odd leaps of logic so I might be wrong! Maybe it's his penance.

Where those actually the kingsguard or where they the new and improved Warrior's Sons? the whole seven pointed star across their chestplate made me think they were them rather then just kingsguard.
