(Belric loses another Disposition Level with Ser Simon)
The knight stared, cold daggers from his light blue eyes, scowling.
"I have dutifully served as the Knight of Wailing Tower since before you were born," he spat, tone venomous. "I know it better than any man living. The only reason you have grain to eat and coin to spend this day is because I held it against a larger force of traitorous knights and a small army of peasants. The gods have judged me innocent, yet you punish me against their will because you fear the rabble? I was not aware the Lord of Harrenhal took orders from bleating sheep."

Belric was already frustrated, but to be lectured by a child murdered set him over the edge. Rage took him over like a flood. He slammed his gauntleted fist into the desk, splitting the wood underneath his steel knuckles. "I will not be questioned!" His voice was harsh and full of anger. He spoke quickly as he lashed out. "Your duty was to a traitor, delivering her the lives of children and serving with your cock instead of your honor! The gods have let you live, but I am the one who decides your purpose within these walls!" The hatred Belric held for this man was palpable, but he could not deny Simon's usefulness. "You have sworn fealty, and will honor that in whatever way I see fit!"
"If you are smart, you will work to earn my respect, and that of Lady Saesha's." Belric peered at through eyes of disgust.

(Failed. That's another Disposition Level lost.)
The old knight did not even flinch as Belric cracked his desk with a steel fist, weathering the lord's rather shameful lack of composure like the cliffs of the Stormlands during a tempest.
"I did my duty," he repeated, his mantra in life. "And I will continue to do so. Just remember you own. A lord's duty is to his knights first and his peasants second. The weak serve the strong. That is the way of the world. As you have informed me, the war is over and the only thing separating traitors from loyalist is the hand of fate."
He turned to Saesha then, deciding it was more prudent to treat with the more calm and logical of the pair.
"Then if I am to be relieved of the post I have held for forty years despite the gods judging that I have committed no wrongdoing, I would request my new position be as Sworn Shield to Lady Saesha, if she would have me. It is thanks to this woman that I was able to avenge my beloved lady and deliver justice to the traitor that murdered her. For this, she has by eternal gratitude, and I would consider an honor to serve as her shield for the remainder of my days."

"I would be honoured to have you, Ser." Saesha replied, looking upon Simon with a lot less dislike than her husband. Belric himself should be happy she had a natural inclination to put what is in the past exactly there, seeing as she had got over the insult of being forced into marriage with him.
"I know you are a man who takes oaths of fealty more seriously than any others, and for that I know you will serve me with distinction and to the best of your abilities."

(Failed. Disposition remains the same, which is already fairly high.)
"I will protect you as I could not her. I swear it," he said reverently, bowing his head, before glancing to Belric and Hoster.

Belric's anger grew with every word Ser Simon said. When the man offered to be Saesha's sworn sword he nearly lost it. "Have you last your fucking mind? What makes you think she would..." He was cut off sharply by his wife's answer.
Running on anger alone, Belric picked up a chair and threw it across the room.

Hoster flexed his fingers, he didn't like the way that smug cunt was talking to Belric. His opinion of Ser Simon had risen when the old creeper had provided him with the key to the storage, but he still didn't like the demon loving bastard.

(+2 Strength)
The chair not only shatters into splinters, but also punches a hole through the thick oak door. Ser Simon did not react, but was likely grateful this was no longer his office.

"The man won a trial by combat, my love," Saesha said, but her eyes were cold at the lack of restraint her husband showed, she did not flinch though, she'd grown up with Bittersteel as an older brother, been through a war with him, a chair across the room was nothing. "As an anointed knight yourself, I had assumed that meant something to you."

He paced quickly, storming about in a fit. "You would have this, serve you?" Belric could hardly consider Ser Simon and honorable knight, he could see him as little more than furniture.

"Darling, you're being very rude," Saesha chastised, "we knew this would be a possible eventuality, now unless you have a suggestion for a better course of action, then this is it. "

"Fine!" Belric barked, not at Saesha specifically, but to the whole situation. "If you want him, you can have him. I would suggest you start looking for a replacement though. Who knows how long he'll still be breathing."

Ser Simon remained silent as they argued about him with him standing there. He did flash the ghost of a smile that looked unnatural on his face when Lord Belric mentioned he might not be breathing for much longer. If anything, the old codger had shown he was a hard man to kill.

Saesha narrowed her eyes at the very unprofessional outburst. At least he'd managed to show everyone that he could not keep a level head when he did not get his way. Happier to stamp his feet.

Tallahar walked into his new Solar. He had someone all the men that would now be serving him but the Bastard Knight had arrived early to see what condition his solar was in.
