Violet spoke up. "That is a pity. It would be such a comfort to me to have a knight sworn to my protection. Though of course, if you choose to take Ser Malcolm into your personal service it's not for me to say nay."

Belric eyed Violet, whatever she had said clearly struck a personal nerve. "I do not doubt that you want your own personal guard. Running away and squandering all that we have been working for can be dangerous business. As such, I will be ordering five of my guard to serve as your protection, day and night." He offered her a polite smile. "You have nothing to fear, sweet sister. You are safe now."

Violet frowned. She did not care to be rebuked in front of others. She fought to keep her temper and said swetly "Thank you for your concern, Belric. I meant no harm, truly. I sought to see our brother off to his new life, and perhaps visit some old friends too. I thought that someone should go with Edmure a way. Alas, he left in a hurry, so I was obliged to do the same," she sighed.

Belric waved it off, trying to rid himself of his frustration. "It does not matter now. All that matter's is that you are safe. I have lost enough siblings for one lifetime, and I would not have you suffer the safe fate." He smiled at her honestly now, no sarcasm. "Truly, it is good to see you," his eyes fell to her broken finger, "mostly unharmed."

She smiled back at him, though not warmly. "My wounds will heal. I am so happy to be safe again. I wish Edmure and Nyles were still with us, but I hope we shall suffer no more losses now."

"I cannot deny my own part to play in Edmure's death, as regrettable as it is. I had not wanted it to end like this, but I suppose a life at the Wall is as near a punishment as one can get." He never even considered that he was talking to Edmure's murderer. "I had truly thought Edmure would make the best of it. He could have been Lord Commander some day, regardless of wether he hated me for it." Belric's eyes flashed with resolve, "Those responsible for my brother's deaths will be dealt with in kind. Blood begets blood."
His eyes met Dacey's, "In light of such things, I have made my decision. This is no time to gamble our cousin's life away. I will make the arrangements to have the gold delivered to Lord Byrch as ransom for Willem. Will you see that he gets home safely?"

Ser Malcolm Browncloak stood in silence, as if holding a vigil for a dearly departed friend.

Dacey nodded. "Of course. It was I that sent him there, it is only fitting for me to retrieve him," she said grimly.

"Yes, but you are also the only one I trust to do so." Belric added, trying to make it apparent that this was not intended to be grunt work. "It goes without saying, but don't take any shit from Lord Byrch. Under different circumstaces, I would be sending you with an army, not gold. We are Blackforts, and they better get used to hearing the name."
Turning to Malcolm, he continued, "Well, Ser Malcolm, do you remember the words?"

"Of course. I'll make sure he hears of your generosity," she replied with a nod, and observed as Belric welcomed the hedge knight into his service.

Ser Malcolm knelt and flawlessly said the words, the oath always on the tip of the tongue for a hedge knight.

Belric looked like a proud father, ready to welcome Malcolm into the family. He knew an oath was only as good as the man that gave it, but he couldn't help but feel some connection to the soft featured knight. Perhaps it was his strong masculine jaw line, or his soft auburn hair. Whatever the reason, Belric could see these two becoming fast friends.
"Very well, Ser Malcolm. I welcome you to Harrenhal, where you will always have a place at my table and a room for shelter. I will honor your oath, and ask only of you what is right and honorable. I swear this by the Old Gods and the new." He motioned for Malcolm to stand. "Now, arise a Knight of Harrenhal."

Lucamore arrived without any fanfare or exuberant greeting, not looking his typical jovial self as he took a seat.

Belric gave him a peculiar look, "What, no gloating? And you made such a fool of me. Are you sick?" He shoved the books he was reading forward onto his desk and stood from his chair. He walked over to Lucamore and put a hand to his arm incase he should faint.
