I'd be interested in playing the septa, so won't be voting in the house name poll.

I dislike the idea of parading a dead raven on our arms. Seems rather undignifed and lowbrow. House Slynt doesn't have an imapled wolf on their sigil and the foundation of their house is fairly similar to ours (and Slynt's a right twat). Although we may differ since we were already knightly prior to the Battle of Redgrass. Slynt had a bloody spear though, a direct reference to his killing of Fat Tom to signify his loyalty to Joffrey over Ned.

Last, since at the moment the poll is pretty torn, I'm considering the option of a mixed ancestry, being a father First Men and a Motner Andal like the Starks. That's just mean all the polotical benefits and drawbacks essentially are cut in half but each individual would get to choose their faith since harrenhal has both a sept and godswood. If you guys are interested in that, let me know. That'd be great Works for me too.

Ned was also generally liked, whereas to the Blackfyre's Bloodraven was thought to be a demon. If you slayed a demon as the founding act of your lordly house, you'd probably make that a part of your sigil.
...We could go full metal and have the sigil be a knight fighting a white demon

Not including a dead raven seems rather silly considering this entire game revolves around that single act.

Well I think the idea now is that you guys kept the sigil from before that act when you were still a knightly house.
Though the fun thing about sigils is the symbolism. As Bloodraven was often maligned as a demon, that would arguably fit just as well and a knight battling a demon looks more intimidating than a skewered bird. It really just depends on how the house wishes to be viewed.

I like the demon idea. But I did like the white raven/blacksword/red background combo as well.
What would a demon look like in Westeros?

I'll whip up a black sword, white raven, sigil when I get home. But now it doesnt seem to make sense if our name is blackfort.

Shouldn't the raven be white? I mean I know he was called Bloodraven, but he was pretty white for a fly guy... David, there's this one.
